What is DIG
The Digital Illustrators Guild (DIG), founded in 2023 by local artists, is a creative space designed for illustrators, concept artists, comic artists, and designers to share their work and connect with one another. DIG offers a variety of workshops and activities specifically crafted by artists for artists, fostering growth and collaboration within the community. Currently, the guild hosts a bi-weekly art meet-up, as well as specialized comic workshops and figure drawing sessions, providing an engaging environment for artistic development and networking.
What We Do
Figure Drawing
Started in 2018, the figure drawing session is the only one of its kind hosted in Dubai. Held every other Saturday, this two-hour class features a new live model for each session. While the class is uninstructed, participants are encouraged to ask questions and seek guidance when needed. Registration is available online, but walk-ins are preferred, offering a flexible and welcoming environment for artists of all levels to practice and refine their skills.
Sketch Meetup
Launched in 2023, the Sketch Meetup takes place every other Saturday, offering artists a space to share their art, sketch, and connect with one another. Participants often bring art books that inspire them, contributing to a shared collection that grows with each meetup. The event is free and open to everyone, making it an ideal space for creatives to network and collaborate. PTP
Pass the Panel (PTP) is an experimental comic workshop that explores various collaborative formats for creating stories and comics. Hosted at Hobb.ae, this unique event encourages artists to work together in inventive ways, pushing the boundaries of traditional comic-making. With limited seating, it's recommended to book a spot in advance. The comics produced during the PTP sessions will eventually be collected and published, with more details to be announced in the future.
